Reflexology

The power of the feet

What is Reflexology & how does it work?

A safe, supportive and complementary therapy, Reflexology is based on the theory that the body is mapped on the feet in a series of reflex points corresponding to organs, glands and the musculoskeletal system.

With over 7,000 nerve endings in each foot, our feet are a powerful connection to our body's innate healing ability. By stimulating the reflex points on our feet, we engage our central nervous system which helps our body regain its natural state of balance.

Regular treatment can help reduce tension,  boost the immune system and increase blood and energy circulation.

 FAQs

  • Whilst Reflexology is not painful, you may feel some mild discomfort for those areas out of balance or congested. The discomfort will only be short lasting whilst we work on those areas. Each treatment is individually tailored to you and the pressure applied will be within your own comfort zone.

  • Some private health cash plan providers accept CNHC registration as a condition for paying claims. These include Health Shield, Simply Health and a number of specific employer plans with Westfield Health. Simply check that Reflexology treatments are included in your health plan.

  • Loose, comfortable clothing that you are able to recline in. You remain fully clothed, but will need to remove your shoes and socks for foot reflexology.

  • A qualified registered Reflexologist will never diagnose or name an illness and will not prescribe or adjust your medication. Reflexology will complement your medical care, not replace it.

  • There are no known negative side effects. Reflexology helps the body to rebalance, so you may occasionally experience a natural healing response where the body begins its self-healing process and elimination of toxins. For example, this could manifest itself in feeling tired or experiencing an increase in urination or loosening of the bowels. Reactions such as these are temporary and should clear within 24-48 hours.

  • Each treatment is bespoke to you. After our initial consultation, we will outline a treatment plan and number of recommended sessions.

Reflexology is not a magic cure, but a powerful complementary therapy that brings us inner peace, encouraging our minds and bodies to truly relax.
